Dr. Cypher has over a decade of experience in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of mental health and educational settings. He also works extensively as a trainer and presenter, providing informative and interactive experiences on a number of topics, including the impacts of trauma, understanding the subjective experience of mental illness, goal setting for sport and life, video games, media, and violence, and coach education in youth sport. Dr. Cypher also maintains a private practice in psychology located in Rochester, NY. His company, Cypher Psychological Services, offers individual and team training in sport psychology, supervision, and consultation. His philosophy in providing sport psychology services is to serve as a guide in a learning process designed to help clients overcome challenges. Through the application of sport psychology principles, athletes can learn more about themselves, develop inner strengths, build new mental skills, and make changes in themselves or their situations.
